IIT Bombay
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, is India’s top ranked University for engineering and research located in Powai , Mumbai. This institution was founded in the year 1958 and offers doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. At present the institution has a total of 14 academic departments, one school, six centers and three interdisciplinary programs. IIT Bombay has now extended its programs to physical sciences, humanities and social sciences such as English, Economics, Physiology, Psychology, Sociology and Management studies. The institution has also started providing learning through distance education programs too.

Every year, IIT Bombay awards degrees, BTech, MTech, Dual Degree (BTech and MTech), M.Mgmt, MSc and PhD to more than 1,000 students. The undergraduate students at IIT Bombay are selected through the Joint Entrance Examination of the IITs.

The placement office at IITB sends invites to various companies and organizations by conducting campus drives for the students. From last fifty years the institution has produced a large number of notable alumni who are have sought important and responsible positions in big corporate and business houses. The students are well selected and placed in multinational corporations and research institutes.

The campus here is packed with a routine of regular classes along with a number of activities. It offers an environment with diverse students from all across the national boundaries. The institution also offers a number of non academic activities which are all upon a student’s discretion and all students are allowed entry to any society of the college they wish to be a part of. Students can avail the facility of library which has a huge collection of all sorts of books at anytime of the day. It is overall an enjoyable learning experience at IIT Bombay. One should not worry about the accommodation also because the hostel provides a number of facilities which are separate for boys and girls.
Basically it solely depends on the student on how he/she wants to learn and make his/her experience worthwhile. IIT Bombay is supposed to have the most liberal campus from all the institutions and colleges of the country.
